Åndalsnes

The main office of AAK Safety is located in Åndalsnes, in the Rauma municipality, 55 km from Molde and 110 km from Ålesund. The town is situated at the bottom of Romsdalen, at the mouth of the Rauma River into the Romsdalsfjord.

The town is surrounded by high mountains reaching up to 1,800 meters, with prominent peaks like the Trolltindene, Vengetindene, and Romsdalshorn. Åndalsnes sees significant tourist traffic and serves as a cruise port with dozens of annual arrivals. The place is a hub for mountain sports in Norway. Every July, the Norwegian Mountain Festival is held here, and in late summer, the RaumaRock music festival takes place.

Travel to Åndalsnes

The nearest airport is in Molde. From Molde, it's an hour's drive or a bus ride to Åndalsnes. Alternatively, you can opt for Ålesund Airport, Vigra. From Ålesund, it's a little over an hour and a half by car or bus to Åndalsnes. You can find up-to-date bus schedules on Fram MR's website here. Another option is arriving by train, as Åndalsnes serves as the end station on the Raumabanen railway line. Known as one of the world's most beautiful and adventurous railway routes, Raumabanen takes you through the picturesque Romsdalen valley, passing famous natural wonders like Trollveggen and Kylling bru (Kylling Bridge). Accommodation

AAK Safety has agreements with the Grand Hotel Bellevue and Hotel Geist in Åndalsnes. To take advantage of our agreement, please notify us by email. Grand Hotel Bellevue is located in the center of Åndalsnes, approximately one kilometer from AAK Safety's premises in Øraveien and only a short walk to the Tindesenteret (Mountain Center) and the center of Åndalsnes. Hotel Geist is located right next to our premises. Another option is Hotel AAK, which is located four kilometers from Åndalsnes up in Romsdalen, just below Romsdalseggen. It's a small hotel with a history dating back to the 1800s when mountain peaks were still unclimbed. The hotel itself was an attraction for mountain sports pioneers, and it's also where our business began over 30 years ago.
